In support of our school philosophy to educate the whole person in the physical, social, intellectual, and emotional realms, we believe that a sound after-school activities program is an integral part of the school curriculum. These activities give students opportunities to explore new possibilities, pursue their individual interests, and discover their talents. We further believe that an effective activities program teaches the participants the value of cooperation and the spirit of teamwork, provides them with the opportunity to engage in healthy competition and strengthens our sense of community at ASOY.

A variety of activities rounds out the curriculum for students beginning in grade 1 such as sports, art, music, crafts, chess club, folk dancing, computer games and student council. The Activity Center offers some activities/lessons for children at an additional cost, such as swimming, Tae-Kwon-Do, and tennis lessons.

Community service
Throughout the school, the ideal of service to the community is emphasized and the student councils and our chapters of the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society participate in various projects in service to the school or wider community.
