Boarding Program

The ASOY Boarding House is a pleasant and spacious residence providing a “home away from home,” and is located in a quiet, secure residential area of Yaounde. The Boarding House is managed by caring house parents whose first priority is the welfare and well-being of the student residents. The house parents keep in close contact with parents and tutors to ensure positive academic achievement and personal development of each child. An experienced staff provides delicious and nutritious meals, as well as daily housekeeping services. Each boarder is provided with a comfortable bedroom and bathroom, and has access to common living, dining, and recreation areas.

Students are required to attend regular study hour sessions in the evenings and on weekends, and to contribute to the general upkeep of the boarding house, including cleaning their rooms, setting and clearing the table for meals, and doing their own laundry.

The boarding facility has a large yard, games and sports equipment, and a swimming pool. Boarding students are encouraged to participate in school activities such as sporting events, class parties, dances, and field trips; and may also use campus recreation facilities including the covered basketball court, swimming pool, playing field and tennis courts. Supervised internet access is available in the boarding house; and the home is equipped with cable television.

Upon arriving in Cameroon, boarders are greeted at the airport by school staff and are taken to the boarding house. When leaving for holidays or summer breaks, school staff take boarders to the airport and ensure their safe departure. Our resident house parents are exceptionally caring and responsible, and the home is equipped with 24-hour guard service.

Parents are required to attend the boarding house orientation session held prior to the beginning of school, and must provide students with health and medical insurance.
