Elementary school students develop the basic thinking and social skills that enable them to reach their full potentialIn the Elementary section of ASOY, we believe that the cooperation of students, parents, and teachers is essential to the effectiveness of the program.

Furthermore, children of elementary school age are developing a wider awareness of the world around them, further expanding their social conscience, and beginning to think more abstractly. We believe that an Elementary Program that offers a variety of learning opportunities will create the environment needed to support the growth of these attributes.

At the Elementary level, we believe that students need to develop the basic thinking and social skills that will enable them to reach their full potential. This is best accomplished through structured play and creativity. It is important that the Elementary Program provide students with a strong foundation in Language Arts, French, Math, Science and Social Studies, as well as an appreciation for the Arts and Physical Education. The development of a sense of responsibility and of organization skills is also essential for a successful transition from Elementary to Middle School.

Finally, we believe that a challenging, accepting, encouraging and enjoyable environment will help our students feel secure, confident and enthusiastic about the school and learning as a life-long process.
